Proverbs wisdom

We all agree that proverbs contain life wisdom which could sometimes be more useful than other types of knowledge. Have a look at these three and say what they mean:
A stitch in time saves nine
You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make him drink
Blood is thicker than water

Umbrella's tale

In the deep India there was a small town, where two men were living with their families. Those men worked as woodcutters.
One day, they decide to get inside the forest to find quality wood. They walked 3 km to arrive at the deep forest, then they had to cross the Browny River which was very dangerous.
Suddenly, while they were crossing the river it began to rain and the waterfall went wild. The young man opened his umbrella and fell off the rock and his foot was broken. The old man tried to help him and take him to the bank.
Later on, they were save and sound but they couldn't return to town because the young man couldn't walk. The old man didn't want to leave him alone because they were in a dangerous forest. They didn’t know what to do, so they waited 2 hours near the river. However, a big cow appeared, the old man thought that he could use it to carry his friend.
Finally, he sat him on the cow and they arrived to the town, they explained the story to people and they keep the cow to be worshipped.
That's the reason why cows are sacred in India.

The umberella's man

Once upon a time, there was a man who was given an umbrella by his grandfather, who died suddenly without any obvious reasons and his last words were: “This is not a normal umbrella, dear; you always have to carry it with you, since this is a lucky umbrella”.
The young man promised him that he would carry it everywhere, but in the bottom of his heart, he thought: “Oh, shit, I have to carry it all the time! People will laugh at me…” And that is what happened because it is strange seeing a man carrying an umbrella even when it is sunny.
This is the reason why the man was called the “Umbrella’s man”. And tired of the gossiping, he decided to go away and forget all, obviously, accompanied with his lucky umbrella.
After thinking a lot about where to go, he decided to go to India, since it is far away and people there, are more tolerant. He travelled for ten hours in a plane and he arrived in India, where a guide was waiting for him. He had paid for the trip with the only worth thing his grandfather had given him, a little money. And this is the beginning of the trip.
Both men entered the thick jungle with the lucky umbrella, of course.
- Damn it!! The umbrella has got hold of a branch! – Suddenly, they slipped and fell down through the waterfall, and because the man broke his leg, he decided to give the famous umbrella to the guide and forget everything. The guide accepted and realised immediately that the umbrella was an ancient worthy object, so, he sold it to a museum, won a huge amount of money and, nowadays, if you go to the most famous India’s museum, you will find it there and it is said that if you touch it, you will be lucky for the rest of your life.
The young man, who came back to Spain, regretted it for the rest of his life, of course.

Umbrella's story

Once upon a time, there were two brothers who lived in a small village in India, near a lake.
One day, the young brother said that he wanted to go near the waterfall where he used to go with his mother to have a walk when he was five years old.
It was a challenge for him because his mum died ten years ago, due to slipping into the water.
So, his brother accompanied him in his journey, because he dared to go to the waterfall alone.
It was a rainy day, so they were carrying an umbrella with them.
When they were crossing the lake, the young man slipped in the same rock as his mother, but his brother helped and saved him. They felt happy, because they thought that it was a miracle of their mother, to protect them.
Nowadays, when they explain their story to their friends and family, it seems incredible, so the others think that they are alive thanks to the umbrella.

Time for writing

We have all had "a jealous moment" in the past and will probably have some others in the future. Write about it and share it with others. They might have had the same feeling as you.
